COLLABORATION

BARNIE X BAIE BRUNE

Every collaboration begins with a meeting. Sometimes an obvious connection, always a dialogue. That is precisely what happened between Delphine, founder of BARNIE, and Pauline, founder of Baie Brune. Two worlds that find each other, recognise one another and respond with rare precision. A shared creative vision, the same attention to detail, and above all a common conviction: that of a sincere, committed fashion that has something to say. From this meeting was born a capsule that resembles nothing other than themselves — a natural extension of their two identities. Fabrics, intentions, femininities: every piece in this collection tells a story of craftsmanship and meaning, imagined and made in France.

Through their exchange, Delphine and Pauline invite us behind the scenes of this creation.

Could you introduce yourselves and tell us about the essence of your respective brands?
Delphine: I'm Delphine, founder of BARNIE. I imagined the brand as an everyday wardrobe, at once timeless and sensitive, where each piece tells a story of simplicity, comfort and character. BARNIE is above all a free, natural allure, with particular attention paid to fabrics and cuts.
Could you introduce yourselves and tell us about the essence of your respective brands?
Pauline: I'm Pauline, founder of Baie Brune. I imagined the brand as an ideal holiday wardrobe: clean cuts, exceptional fabrics, and the idea that elegance is found in simplicity.

How did the collaboration between BARNIE & Baie Brune come about?

Delphine: Very naturally, through spontaneous exchanges on social media. I had been following Baie Brune for several years. I loved their swimwear very much — the clean lines, the elegance, and their creative direction.

Pauline: Through exchanges with Delphine on Instagram. One first meeting was enough for the project to take shape. We share the same approach to creation, and the collaboration came together with ease.

What were the inspirations behind this collaboration?
Delphine: Light, the landscapes of the South, holiday memories... but also women, in their simplicity and their strength.
What were the inspirations behind this collaboration?
Pauline: A warm colour, evoking the softness of summer evenings, set against two iconic silhouettes: the Céline and the Bonnie / Zola. Shapes that highlight the elegance of every woman through their clean cut.

What shared vision lies behind this collaboration?

Delphine: The desire to offer a wardrobe that stands the test of time, far from fleeting trends. A lasting, sincere fashion that flatters the body without transforming it, accompanying women in their everyday lives as well as their escapes.

Pauline: A sensitivity for beautiful pieces. A technical fabric, knitted in the Lyon region, and shapes designed to last. The same desire to accompany women during their summer retreat. A shared vision of beauty.

What place does Made in France hold in your approach?

Delphine: It is not always possible in fashion to develop every collection in France. Even though at BARNIE we always favour near-sourcing with a large majority of European production. The opportunity with Baie Brune to release this collaboration made in France is truly wonderful!

Pauline: It is the very essence of Baie Brune. My mother devoted her entire career to the house of Lacoste; I grew up in contact with the French textile industry, and that attachment has never left me. All our pieces are made in France. A commitment that is increasingly demanding as workshops close, knitters become scarcer and general conditions grow harder — yet we hold to it deeply.
Who are the women you dress?
Delphine: She is a free, natural woman who loves simple yet strong pieces. A radiant, confident woman who dresses first and foremost for herself.

Pauline: A woman of natural elegance who needs nothing to feel fulfilled. She has an innate ability to recognise beauty, goodness and quality, and looks at the world around her with great sensitivity.

In one word or one emotion, how would you define this collaboration?

Delphine: Radiant.

Pauline: Sincerity.

Through this capsule, Delphine and Pauline are signing far more than pieces — they are sketching a wardrobe designed to last, to accompany, to reveal.
